With the advent of infrastructure as a service, suddenly anyone can soon up a VM. Is easy to forget why you employ those people that take care of your on premises kit, and assume everything in the cloud is rosy. It didn’t turn out that way for the guys at codespaces, who are now out of business. Interesting article here.

I recently did some online training in Microsoft Azure and PowerShell with the Microsoft Virtual Academy. I was really surprised at really how in depth the content was, and just how good the presenters were. E.g. the PowerShell training included Jeffrey Snover, who was Microsoft’s technical lead for the product, so could answer just about any question you can think of on the subject.
